This anomaly is why their increases appear more than the other three).		Vision for Warminster has pledged to keep a sharp eye on the amount of money our local councillors are paid by way of allowances and expenses. Town councillors receive no allowance other than occasional mileage claims but those who meet at County Hall claim major sums. Highest paid councillor in the last financial year was leader Mrs Jane Scott who claimed more than £42,000 in total. Cabinet members such as Keith Humphries and Fleur de rhe Philipe claim significantly more than ordinary members as they also receive a special responsibility allowance while those who head area boards, such as Andrew Davis, also receive a nice additional 'wedge'. All councillors received a major inflation busting rise over the past year and these are planned to carry on Basic allowances paid to all members are planned to increase in the following manner: 2009/2010 £ 9,875 2010/2011 £ 10,639 2011/2012 £ 11,403 2012/2013 £ 12,167 Other allowances rise by similar percentages. SHOCKING!!!!! At a time when other people are losing their jobs or have not received a pay rise for several years (ie those of us who have worked in the private sector) it is rather galling to see these people across Wiltshire piling on the pounds in their bank accounts. Have they no shame? '''When I was at County hall there were small payments of £19.75 for a four hour meeting and that was it.'' ''It wouldn't be so bad if Humphries and co made wise decisions but with the car parking fiasco fresh in our minds shouldn't they bring in performance related pay? The total paid out to all Wiltshire Council councillors was £1.36million in 2009-10 and then £1.56million in 2010-11. A rise of 14.7 per cent. What financial crisis?.
