Warminster First Is The Challenge

(April 28, 2025)

On Thursday May 1st you have the opportunity to cast your vote to help decide who will represent your area of Warminster on Wiltshire Council.

I am contesting Warminster East division again in 2025 as an INDEPENDENT candidate – last time the seat was contested in 2021 the Conservatives were riding high nationally but Andrew Davis only squeaked home with a very small majority.

This time I am hoping to build on the 39 per cent of the vote achieved four years ago.

Many of you know me and have done for many years. I have spent my working life in Warminster beginning with several years spent at Midland Bank in the town in the 1970s, then as a manager with Micron Fashions in the Mall, later working in the printing trade with Aris and Phillips.

More recently I was employed by The Warminster Journal, also a taxi driver and latterly for two decades at the Esso garage in East Street where I usually undertook the evening or overnight shifts.

Such experience means I have had daily contact with the public locally and am aware of the many troubling issues and serious problems that so many Warminster people face. These have never gone away and for many they are worse than ever.

I am also a husband, father, brother and grandfather and I think this helps me more fully appreciate the fact that the struggles faced by the younger generation today are greater than ever.

Warminster, like many provincial communities, has a rapidly expanding elderly population whose social and health needs present ever more acute challenges. Whoever wins this election needs to be alive to the housing, health and mobility needs of the very elderly.

All I can promise you is that I will be sympathetic if you call on my help and will do my best to assist you resolve any issues you many have.

As an independent I will always put Warminster first - not a political party.
